Catalogue of Gordon Cheung's exhibition 'God is on our side' at the Galeria Unosunove, Rome, between 26 Sep - 10 Nov 2007.In Gordon Cheung's paintings the Financial Times stock listings are used as a metaphor for a globalised virtual space that literally saturates and affects our lives. His use of collage, oils, acrylics, Chinese ink, sprays, gels and computers collide to create a florescent dream and a delirious hallucination. Cheung invites us to undertake a journey through his paintings that reflect that techno-sublime where information overwhelms the individual, causing a flickering perception of realities blurring between the virtual and actual.
