Scope and Content

This catalogue was published on the group exhibition The Pivotal Decade: Hong Kong Art 1997-2007 held at the Chinese Arts Centre in 2007. The show was arranged by the Centre and Grotto Fine Arts Ltd. curated by Henry Au-yeung and Ying Kwok. In edition of 500 copies.

The seven artists and one of the curators, Ying Kwok, were all graduates from the Department of Fine Arts At the Chinese University of Hong Kong, who had all developed their practice in the decade after the handover of Hong Kong. There practice reflects not just the individual artist's answers to post-handover Hong Kong, but also the possibilities of Hong Kong as a nurturing centre for contemporary art.
