Gordon Cheung - Here Be Dragons / Designed and produced by Peter B. Willberg

Summarization of Content

This catalogue was published on the occasion of Gordon Cheung's solo exhibition Here Be Dragons in Nottingham Castle between 30 April- 17 July 2016.

"Cheung's digital works literally dissolve/evolve in front of one's eyes, recognisable motifs or forms turn to fades, palimpsests and echoes of the past - erased as the computer programme corrupts data upon the surface in the form of a visual virus. From the pictorial to the binary, we are stripped back to Cheung's first reference - the Financial Times pages and the lists of seemingly irrelevant cascading numbers. We look for the meaning behind them, deciphering shape or hidden truths amongst the numerical rain."
