Summarization of Content

Catalogue for the group show Image is Power held by the He Xiangning Art Museum, Shenzhen, in 2002, featuring the works of Wang Guangyi, Zhang Xiaogang, Fang Lijun.

The exhibition was the first large-scale retrospective the artists and  included most of the artists' important works. The purpose of the exhibition was to remove "various prejudices against Chinese contemporary art and further, to examine, with a historically probing eye, the creations of the artists and the time that stimulated their creation".  Includes interviews and essays critiquing Chinese contemporary art.
