Summarization of Content

Monograph documenting artist Jeremy Hutchison's project Err.

The project examined examines the potential of  "deliberate errors to offer a moment of freedom within the logic of global production" in response to a report  which noted how some workers in the  Apple factory in Shenzhen deliberately dropped item so they could have a short rest. The artist commissioned works in factories around the world to insert errors into products they produced to render them dysfunctional. The workers were given "unconditional authorship over the errors they chose to make". The work were presented as a installation alongside documentation collected by the artist during his research.
