Summarization of Content

Exhibition catalogue was published in conjunction with Wang Qingsong's solo exhibition Romantique at the Courtyard Gallery, Beijing, in 2004.

The catalogue features a profile of the artist's early works as well as two new series: China Mansion and Romantique. Created in a movie studio in Beijing, the new series address the artist's perceptions of China social reality in an age of globalisation. The works make references to oil paintings by Western masters and feature religious characters from both Christian and Buddhist art.
