Scope and Content

DVD containing the colour silent single-channel video installation 'Bade Area' by Chen Chieh-jen.

The work was filmed in Bade City, Taiwan, formerly a thriving industrial city. The film documents the abandonment of the area and its suspension between its industrial use and the areas regeneration,  inspired by a billboard saying ‘The Majestic Town’ now pointing to barren land where a factory once stood.
