History

A photography exhibition featuring images of contemporary China by Lip Lee and Dinu Lee presenting images, to mark the the handover of Hong Kong. The works recorded the realities of modern life in China to reflect the diversity and complexity of the countries culture.

Lip Lee's works depicted how everyday life in Beijing had changed in the 1990s due to the capitalist market reforms introduced to the communist political regime. In contrast, Dinu Li project featured images of lives of the Miao people in south west China. Li captured the traditions and culture of the people who were largely unaffected by the influence of the rest of China.
