History

Exhibition developed by the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Hong Kong Development Council.  The exhibition was part of the City States programme of the 2012 Liverpool Biennial.

Curated by the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the All Are Guests exhibition featured artists Leung Mee-ping and Chow Chun-fai and local design team CoLAB x SLOW, who responded to the Biennial's theme of hospitality by exploring the contrast between the individual.

Out of Place was a video work by Leung Mee-ping which explored the rapid development of Asian cities and its affect on marginalised groups.

Chow Chu-fai's work was an imaginative look at a tourism trailer for Hong Kong. The work sought to
gain a new understanding of the city and the meaning of a 'real' portrait of a city through simulation and reconstruction.

So … Soap! by CoLAB X SLOW was the result of a collaborative community project. Developed in collaboration with the Chinese Arts Centre, CoLAB X SLOW held workshops with women's community groups in Liverpool and Manchester to hep them run and manage a sustainable business making handmade soap.
