History

San Francisco based artist Christine Wong Yap was a multi-disciplined visual artist who practice was an exploration of the competing pulls of optimism and pessimism.

During her residency, the artist immersed herself in activities across the north west, including presenting her work to local students and visited exhibitions across the country. The artist also was engaged in self-directed research looking at slang, weather and temperaments in Manchester; the case for optimism in America's near future; time perspectives; and psychology. The artist also documented her research on her blog.

Her recent works and results of her research during her residency were presented in her open studio held between 23th-30th April.
