History

UK artist Amy Cham's practice was an interrogation into the boundaries between the artworks, artists, and audience. Her work explores the social and relational aesthetic issues in arts, and examined how the audience could participate in the process of art making.

The artist use the residency to continue her project, 'British Born Chinese Lesbian' (BBC Lesbian), a Lesbian community website which acted as a tool for empowering women to make contact with each other. She also planned to used the residency to collaboratively create work about being a Chinese lesbian, exploring personal issues about her identity.

During her residency at the Centre, she exhibited Freefall: a way practising (13-26 September), featuring her current work exploring various issues, and developed a new work Big Sister, (1-8 October).
