Guo Wei’s oil paintings focuses on aspects of everyday life, especially movement and posture of individuals. The monochrome works shown at the Centre feature teenagers as their subjects. Through body language, his works capture humour of interrelationships and ‘restlessness’ of teenagers.
The Centre also presented a series of works by He Duoling entitled Family. Reflecting on the structure of families in China at the time and the ‘One Child’ policy, his paintings present a single image of a baby onto a backdrop of classical dynastical familial scenes.
The exhibition preview was on the 29 July.
