Catalogue published on the occasion of the View from an Island  exhibitions held at the Millennium Art Museum, Beijing and Shanghai Art Museum in 2004, featuring Irish Contemporary Art from the collection of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, as part of the China Ireland festival. 

The group exhibition tooka look at a cross-section of ideas and issues illustrated through a variety of media that currently preocuppy Irish artists. Many of these issues reflect the major social and economic changes that Ireland has been experiencing in recent years. This exhibition also highlights the impressive variety of creative technique and media employed by Irish artists. The works in this exhibition, which for the most part date back to the early 1990s, include paintings, sculpture and video works.
