Summarization of Content

Exhibition catalogue for the 2nd Cruel/loving Bodies touring exhibition organised by the Hong Kong Arts Centre in 2006.

The first phase of the Cruel/Loving Bodies project brought together artists from China, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom to reflect upon the interrelated issues of gender and body, particularly in the context of China and the Chinese diaspora. Cruel/Loving Bodies 2 reunited the original core group, to create an evolving visual conversation about the complexities and tensions surrounding conceptions of the body, gender, and cultural identity.

The exhibition was held at the Pao Gallery at the Hong Kong Arts Centre and the Goethe-Gallery, Hong Kong.
