Summarization of Content

Exhibition catalogue for the group show 'On the edge of the millennium' by Geodhus Contemporary shown at their New York gallery (27 Mar - 27 Apr 2002) and London gallery (7-28 Jun 2002).

The exhibition featured a number of leading artists from China whose works can be seen to represent the growing confidence both in China’s role in the modern world and in the art world. The artistic environment in China now allows artists to face up to international criteria with quiet self-confidence - no longer the idiosyncratic chroniclers of a desperate and mysterious passage in history, but now men and women willing and able to compete on their own terms as artists of the world. Short biographies of the artists are included.
