Summarization of Content

Catalogue published in conjunction with the touring retrospective exhibition 'Mary Martin1907-1969 - the end is always to achieve simplicity' looking at the work of artist Mary Martin, organised by Huddesdfield Galllery and The Culture Company and curated by Sara Brown and Robert Hall.

Mary Martin's work blurs the lines between art and architecture and plays in the space between two and three dimensions. Experimenting with a wide range of materials and repetitions, she seeks to analyse and deconstruct the 'logic' that the viewer might have when approaching an artwork.

The exhibition was held at: Huddesfield Art Gallery, Huddesfield, (16 Oct - 18 Dec 2004), Kettle's Yard House and Gallery, Cambridge, (08 Jan - 27 Feb 2005), Towner Art Gallery, Eastborne, (12 mar - 08 May 2005), and Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum, Bornemouth (25 Jan -11 Sep 2005).
