Vanley Burke was a Jamaican born photographer who had been based in Birmingham since 1965. His practice is especially concerned with black culture in Britain. The exhibition presented the interior of the artist's home including his archive of printed material, clothes, records, ornaments and other items which provide an insight into Britain's African and Caribbean communities. The exhibition documented the artist personal story and the bigger picture he was creating for the viewer.
