Summarization of Content

Catalogue for the touring exhibition 'Le Monde Dans La Fenetre' [A World inside the window' by Zhou Li held at the China Art Gallery (Beijing), China He Xiangning Art Museum (Shenzhen), and Shenzhen Painting Academy in 2001.

For years Zhou Li's paintings have centred around the theme of the window. Zhou Li's work explores the window as an in-between; she places herself in that in-between space to explore her inner world, rather than using the window to look to the outside world. She focuses on the movement of her brush and watching her painting come to live; subsequently, the window she paints becomes the window to her inner world.
