Content

Scope and Content

Yao Jui-Chung was selected in 2007 to complete an artist's residency in the Scottish Highlands as part of the Glenfiddich Artist's Village program. Leaving his hectic life in Taipei behind, he spent three months in Scotland, interacting with other artists and reflecting on the landscape around him.

Yao himself was surprised by how his work subconsciously combined the Chinese world of painting and Scottish patterns. He returned to Taipei in the autumn of 2007, and exhibited his work created in Scotland as part of the exhibition 'Wonderful'.
