But even if individual drawings might depict groups of tattered blood-red torsos hanging from tiny bare trees above pools of unknown black liquid, or present us with a shrouded figure who has a large red curve lozenge emerging from the cowl that covers its head, this is not, however, an attempt to describe them as fantastical, or even symbolic."
