Summarization of Content

Monograph documenting the digital performance: Emptied Memories by Chou Tung -Yen. The work was developed for Very Mainstream Studio and  premiered in the 2012 Digital performing Arts Festival.

Emptied Memories was an exploration into space and memory created by director Chou Tung-Yen. Inspired by Federico Garcia Lorca’s poem, Nocturne of Emptied Space, the director invited choreographer Chou Shu-Yi to co-create an "empty space" by using space and memory as the starting point. Their creation employed the technological integration of panoramic video, real-time image processing, sensors and wireless stage control system. "The performer drives the external deformation of the material world, echoing the internal state, in order to present the organic flow of one's mindscape".
