Biography
Aspex, (also known as Aspex Gallery) is a contemporary art gallery in Portsmouth located in the Gunwharf Quays area.
It was formed in 1981 as the exhibition arm of Art Space Porthmouth, but became a separeate entity in the early 1990s. In 2006 it moved to its current home.
Aspex exists to support emerging artists, expose the creative process, and engage new audiences with visual art. They achieve this by delivering an programme of exhibitions, off-site projects and participation events. Their aim is to make the appreciation and creation of art a more inclusive activity.
