Anthony Lam is a photographic artist whose practice explores
notions and (un)realities of boundaries and borders. His works address issues of identity, cultural and place from a personal and a socio-political viewpoint.
Lam was born in London in 1966. He obtained a diploma in Photojournalism from the London College of Printing in 1989. He was based in Hong Kong in the late 1990s, where he freelanced for media publications. He returned to the UK to study for his MA in Photography at the London College of Printing in 2000. He is also the Senior Lecturer in Photography at Kingston University.
Lam has shown both nationally and internationally, and his works have been shown in galleries in Abu Dubai, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, UK & USA.
His works were exhibited at the Centre in the group show Home
in 2004. Lam also facilitated a photographic workshop
in association with the exhibition. He was also one of the artist who produced works for the exhibition Cherish: Chinese Families in Britain
at the National Portrait Gallery, which was facilitated by the Centre.
