Touring exhibition which was a joint initiative of the Arts Project at Lambeth Chinese Community association (LCCA) and the University of Essex, and curated by Jeremy Theophilius. The exhibition toured Chinese Art Centre; British Council Antrim, Manchester; University of Essex Gallery; and Firstsite, Colchester.
It looked at the growing group of artists whose roots were based in Chinese culture, yet whose aspirations and identity were focused within a European context. The exhibition displayed the work of 12 artists ranging from established artists to a younger generation of artists.
The touring exhibition also coincided with the Journey's West conference held on 21 October 1995. The conference, a collaboration between the Institute of Visual Arts and the Chinese Arts Centre, explored issues affecting contemporary artists of Chinese descent living in the UK and Europe.
