Summarization of Content

Catalogue of Hamish Fulton's exhibition "Walking in Relation to Everything", published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name at Turner Contemporary in Margate and Ikon Gallery in Birmingham in 2012.

In 1973, having walked over 1,000 miles in 47 days from Duncansby Head to Lands End, Hamish Fulton decided to only make art resulting from the experience of individual walks. The exhibition combines new and existing works that have a strong sense of place. The exhibition has ritualistic connotations that correspond to walking activity and the meditate thought that it can inspire, touching on a wide range of issues that pre-occupy the artist, such as his Tibetan sympathies and respect for nature.
