Scope and Content

Extended clip from an interview with Yuen Megson (Denise) talking about experiences moving to the UK and Manchester. 

She talks about her life in Malaysia and her move to the UK in 1978 to be a nurse in Cheshire and later Stockport. She also talks about her Malaysia/Chinese heritage and other family members who moved to the UK. She talks about her visits to Manchester China Town for food and shopping and her difficulties due to being a mostly English speaker. Talks of her relationship with Wai Yin on a professional level and later socially after her retirement. 

Recorded during the CFCCA HLF Oral history project in 2017.
