BiographyBryan Biggs is a British artist and was born in 1952. He studied at the Barnet College (1971-72) and the Liverpool Polytechnic (1972-75). He ran the Bluecoat Gallery in Liverpool before becoming the director of the gallery in 1994 and continue his work in present. In parallel to arts administration and curating, he has maintained his worn drawing practice. His work has no narrative intent and the drawings are nevertheless a sort of dairy. His daily doodles are done to the culture of capital, intolerance and political expediency. His work has been exhibited in the Galerie Berners in Cologne and the Bluecoat Gallery. He has contributed drawings and writings to numerous publications including Responses: Intercultural Drawing Practice (cair, Liverpool School of Art and Design, 2001), Liver from the Vinyl Junkyard: The Ultimate Mix (Bluecoat, 1998), Trophies of Empire (Bluecoat, 1994), etc.
