Biography
Chen Ching-yuan is a Taiwanese artist born in 1984. He received his MFA in 2013 from the School of Fine Arts of the Taipei National University of the Arts. In his paintings, he attempts to paint the subtle sensibility that weaves through literature, mythology, and history in different cultural contexts. His recent solo exhibitions was held nationally and internationally including the IT Park, Taipei (2015); 8th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art; Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane (2015); Asia Triennial Manchester (2014); the 7th Busan International Video Festival, Busan (2010) and many more.
He received the Kaosiung Award in 2009 and the Outstanding Art Prize of the School of Fine Arts from the Taipei National University of the Arts in 2008.
