BiographyHe An (何岸) is a Beijing based artist, who had received a BFA in Painting from the Hubei Academy of Fine Arts. His practice mainly uses light sculptures, often neon light up character signs often seen in the streets of China. To He An, these signs represent the city, the night life, loneliness, sex and death, and with these stolen signs, he would recreate the names of people he holds dear.
He was the first Breathe resident artist at the Chinese Arts Centre in 2003.
